Swimming is a life saving skill, if done correctly it can be done with ease. As a competitive swimmer for 10 years, I used the mechanics of swimming to accomplish my swimming goals. I use my knowledge to teach others how to swim more efficiently and effectively. My first mission is to provide the correct swimming foundations. Next, we build on those skills so you can enjoy the water and be safe. I do not teach doggy paddle. I focus on teaching stroke swimming, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. I don’t teach expecting a student to become a competitive swimmer. Instead I teach correct form and technique used by competitive swimmers to create safe swimming for exercise, recreationally or competitively, all start with the right foundations. Without it you may be limiting you or your child’s swimming future.
MY CLASSES ARE FOR FOR AGES 4 TO ADULT AND ARE:
*Personalized to meet each student’s specific needs
*Taught with positive and caring, but firm attitude
*Taught in a relaxing and fun environment
My first goal is to establish a level of security and trust between the student and myself. From there, we work through a series of proven steps and drills that, when practiced consistently, will result in a student who is water-safe.
Learning proper technique, creates a stronger, safer and more capable swimmer. The following 3 swimming goals help to determine when the student is water safe:
- The ability to swim the length of the pool while comfortably taking strong breaths
- The ability to tread water, in the deep end, for a minimum of sixty seconds
- The ability to dive or jump into the water and swim safely to the edge of the pool
